The List (UK)

A Canadian writer in the midst of a painful divorce makes his way to Poland where he seeks to discover something of the fate of his forbears, who were killed in The Holocaust. On a disappointed journey home, he encounters the story of another genocide, and proceeds to project his personal and political prejudices upon the story of a war crimes trial. Told, effectively as meta-narrative, this piece by Michael Redhill explores the subtle causes of mass hysteria and brutality from small beginnings to morally complex ends. Beautifully sung and performed, with a tight and compelling courtroom drama structure, this invigorating production from Volcano comes highly recommended. (Steve Cramer)
